Dylan Burger has been awarded the Dr. John B. Dossetor Research Award from the Kidney Foundation of Canada. This national honour recognizes outstanding contributions to kidney research and celebrates innovation, leadership and dedication in advancing kidney health.
Dr. Burger is internationally recognized for his work on extracellular vesicles and their role in kidney disease, diabetes and aging. His research has led to significant advances in understanding how extracellular vesicles contribute to kidney injury and may serve as early biomarkers for kidney disease.
In addition to his role as a Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and Professor at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Burger is Associate Program Director of OHRI’s Inflammation and Chronic Disease Program and Director of the Kidney Research Centre.
The Dossetor Award, named after one of the Kidney Foundation’s founding members and a trailblazer in Canadian kidney research, honours individuals who have made a lasting impact through research leadership, securing funding, developing partnerships and raising awareness.
