Des chercheurs de L’Hôpital d’Ottawa obtiennent 19 subventions de recherche d’une valeur de plus de 12 M$ des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada

Des chercheurs de L’Hôpital d’Ottawa sont à la barre de 19 nouveaux projets qui ont reçu un financement de plus de 12 millions de dollars des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC).

Ces projets feront avancer les connaissances scientifiques et amélioreront la santé dans des domaines comme le cancer, la neuroscience, la médecine régénératrice, l’autisme, le syndrome Kabuki, les maladies rénales, l’engagement du patient, les transfusions sanguines, la sepsie, la chirurgie, l’anesthésie, le don de plasma, les maladies musculaires, les lésions pulmonaires graves, les lésions pulmonaires chez le nouveau-né et la syncope.

« Ces projets de recherche nous permettent d’offrir d’excellents soins aux patients tout en réalisant des percées scientifiques qui améliorent la santé à l’échelle mondiale », affirme le Dr Duncan Stewart, vice-président exécutif de la Recherche à L’Hôpital d’Ottawa et professeur à l’Université d’Ottawa.

L’Institut de recherche de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa a obtenu un taux de succès de 34 % dans ce concours, la moyenne nationale se situant à 22 %. Au cours des trois dernières années, L’Hôpital d’Ottawa s’est classé 4e en moyenne parmi les hôpitaux financés par les IRSC.
